Ken Harper is a puppeteer, writer, director and theatre teacher, based in Melbourne, Australia. He first performed the diabolical Punch as a tent show with actors in Punch’s Opera in 1980 and has been creating and performing plays using both puppetry and live actors ever since.

His puppetry credits include Wallaroo Goes Walkabout, Fabulous Tales from the Horses Mouth, Off The Fridge, and the adult visual theatre show The Wooden Child (with Handspan Theatre, Melbourne) He is currently head of Drama and Theatre Studies at Melbourne’s University High School and divides his time between teaching and performing.

Ken is married to the children’s author Kirsty Murray and they live with a bunch of spooky puppets in Melbourne.
